Jméno hraje velice důležitou roli v životě každého z nás. Podle jedné staré jednoduché kabalistické metody lze dokonce určit charakter i povahové vlastnosti jen na základě jeho jména a příjmení. Čísla se sčítají a konečným výsledkem je jednociferné číslo od jedné do devíti. Každému z těchto čísel pak odpovídá nějaká charakteristika. Čísla se přisuzují písmenkům ve jméně podle tohoto schématu:

1 – jednička: Člověk ovládaný tvořivými silami, který dokáže ovlivnit okolí.
2 – dvojka: Osoba plná protikladů má spíše negativní podmínky pro styk se všemi ostatními třídami jedinců.
3 – trojka: Poměrně silná osobnost s řečnickým talentem.
4 – čtyřka: Člověk praktický bez výraznějších ambicí, rád se podřídí, dobrý zaměstnanec v oblasti fyzické i duševní práce.
5 – pětka: Proměnlivý jedinec, s určitou nejistotou v praktických otázkách. Hledá v životě jistotu, útočiště a oporu.
6 – šestka: Člověk s velkou zodpovědností (za jednotlivce, instituce i národy).
7 – sedmička: Chápavý člověk , kterého charakterizuje mír, moc a bohatství vnitřního vědění.
8 – osmička: Jedinec formy dokonalé, s dobrou schopností vést povahy přímé a kritické, se schopností fyzického i duševního pojetí.
9 – devítka: Naprostá dokonalost ve všech směrech, člověk s vyvinutým citem a intuicí, podnikavý a dosahující obsáhlého lidského vědění.
